Columbus, Ohio how we miss thee!

Well - we have been out of Ohio for almost 4 months now... WOW long time. My fiance and I have almost immediately realized that in comparison where we are in New York - there isn't enough good food for a great price anywhere! I have been craving a lot from the great city of Columbus -

For breakfast I have craving North Star Cafe food. Any of it but especially their fresh squeezed o.j. and their ham and cheese scones. They melt in your mouth.

For Lunch and Dinner -  Haiku Sushi. I used to work there and let me tell you if and when you are in the area go there! You will never taste anything like it! Their spicy tuna is the best that I have ever had, as well as their tempura udon.

For desert - if you have been to Columbus you will know that there is nothing to eat after dinner unless it is Jeni's Ice Cream - all made in Columbus with local ingredients and they have the greatest and coolest flavors I have ever heard of.

We re just far enough of out the New York City that it is not realistic to head down there for some great food at great prices. I have recently discovered this place and can not wait to check it out the next time that we are there.

Pop Bar is a great gelato pop parlor that makes everything fresh and has great flavors and states that  "...popbar consumption may result in addictive behavior."

If all else fails there is a great deli in NYC that I have heard of that sells Jeni's signature flavors. I will definetly need to go there!

We decided to make some BBQ chicken  for lunch! I mixed all of the BBQ sauces that we had in the kitchen and added some bread crumbs to it to give it some more stick to the chicken. Just make some baked beans and you are ready to go!

A tastey lunch!

Ode to John, Paul, George and Ringo

I felt like I was in a funk for a few days and I decided to make some posters. Small and menial I know but still I am making something of my time right? Well I went through and found some of my favorite Beatles songs, and took lyrics from them that I loved. These are the three of the four but I will be posting the fourth when it is finished.

I wanted simple but fun... I hope that you like them.

'P.S. I love you'- Lennon / McCartney

'Good Day Sunshine' - Lennon / McCartney

'Yellow Submarine' - Ringo Starr

Trip to Italy part 2: Rome

We were in Rome for 4 days pretty much. It was great! My grandfathers sister is a nun but not any nun she is one of the Nun of Nuns. So Lisa and I got to stay in a convent, interesting to say the least :). Rome is awesome to just walk and discover things! great shops, great places to eat and of course history everywhere! ( my favorite!!!!!)We got to see Trajians ForumAnd of course the Colosseum!

One of my MUST SEES! The Arch of Constantine.. There is me at the bottom middle! It was GREAT!!!!

St. Peters Square was awesome it was huge and pictures don't really it justice and the Pope was literally 5 feet from us. It was pretty cool!

Lisa got to go to her favorite Cappuccino place but I admit it was good!!!!

At the Pantheon we got to see Raphael's Tomb.

The Pieta in St. Peters was beautiful... I loved it!

What I loved most about this trip... I found a new love - Bernini. His work is more that beautiful... There are so many pieces that we saw that we were not able to photograph because of the museum we were in. The Piazza Novona ( pictures above) was a gorgeous fountain! Check it out!

St. Teresa in Ecstasy. I LOVE BERNINI

The Trevi Fountain.
The most beautiful sculpture I have ever seen! I love it and can not express its fluidity just in the stone!

This trip was great - I can not wait to go back!

These are only a small fraction of the photos that we took on this trip.. there are well over 2,000!

hope that you liked the snippets
